Brick City Development Corporation Bonding Assistance Program – Surety Bond Associates developed BCDC’s Bonding Assistance Program, which is a comprehensive offering of educational, networking and capacity building opportunities for local, small, minority, and women business enterprise construction firms located in Newark NJ. Qualified contractors have access to various financial incentives to mitigate the surety’s risk and enhance their ability to qualify for bonding or increase their bonding capacity, and improve their chances of securing working capital/mobilization financing.
PA Minority Business Enterprise Center – PA-MBEC focuses its expertise on minority enterprises that demonstrate scalability or high-growth potential. They provide their clients with services at affordable scaled fees based on company revenue with a focus on three vital services to minority businesses: professional consultants, access to capital, and contract procurement opportunities..
PennDOT DBE Support Services Center – The mission of the DBE Supportive Services Center is to provide training and consulting services to DBE’s enabling them to acquire the proficiency, expertise, and experience necessary to compete, on an equal basis, with non-DBE’s for PennDOT federally assisted highway contracts and subcontracts.
Surety Bonds: A Guide For Contractors – This interactive CD is packed with publications and resources about Contract Surety bonds, and contains three narrated comprehensive presentations. Topics include: the basics of surety bonds; the bonding process; qualities of a surety bond agent; the prequalification process; the value of a surety relationship; the benefits of bonding; and managing risk with a subcontractor bonding policy.
Temple Construction Management Certificate Series – The Construction Management Certificate Series is a 9-month series of seminars designed to provide business management tools to existing and aspiring contractors. Participants who complete either series will earn a Special Certificate of Completion from the Temple University Fox School of Business and Management and the Small Business Development Center.
Turner School of Construction – Since 1969, Turner has been training minority- and women-business owners in the disciplines practiced in the construction industry. This program has been uniquely designed to enhance the technical, administrative and managerial skills of minority and women businesses in order to make a profit and build a reputation for efficiently managing construction projects.
SBA’s Office of Government Contracting & Business Development – The SBA administers several programs and services that assist small businesses in meeting the requirements to receive government contracts, either as prime contractors or subcontractors, including the 8(a) Business Development and Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) Programs.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley – Need help repairing your credit? Many small businesses are denied access to bonding because of credit issues. Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley is a non-profit service organization dedicated to delivering professional credit education, confidential credit and housing counseling and debt reduction programs to all segments of the community. The Small Business Development Center Program is administered by the SBA and provides management assistance to current and prospective small business owners. SBDCs assist small businesses with financial, marketing, production, organization, engineering and technical problems and business planning.
Temple’s Small Business Development Center – Temple’s SBDC’s free managerial and technical consulting services include accounting, business plan preparation, cash flow management, government procurement, and insurance. Through the award winning nine month Construction Management Certification program, construction companies will learn business management tools specific to the construction industry.
New Jersey’s Small Business Development Center – The New Jersey SBDC offers free counseling, affordable training and information services to assist small businesses and prospective entrepreneurs in all areas of small business management through 11 regional centers and 18 satellite offices throughout New Jersey.
The Enterprise Center – The Enterprise Center recruits, trains, and nurtures entrepreneurs and grows start-up companies in urban communities by offering intensive coaching and training in the core areas of business development: sales and marketing, financial management, human resources, technology deployment and regulatory compliance.
Business.gov – Business.gov guides you through the maze of government rules and regulations and provides access to services and resources to help you start, grow, and succeed in business.
SBA’s e-Business Institute – The Small Business Training Network, sponsored by the Office of Entrepreneurial Development, is a virtual campus housing free training courses, workshops and knowledge resources designed to assist entrepreneurs and other students of enterprise.
